Ken Larsen, CR, WLS, CSDS

CEO & MASTER INSTRUCTOR

Ken Larsen, CR, WLS, FLS, CLS, CMP, CSDS has been in the restoration industry since 1978. He holds RIA, ACAC and IICRC advanced designations. Recipient of the 32nd RIA Martin L. King Award for his many contributions and sincere dedication to the Restoration Industry, his career includes 18 years as an independent property restoration contractor, consultant to restorative drying during catastrophes and large loss drying coordination, expert witness, Director of Education for North America’s largest disaster restoration contracting organization, and now the author of one of the industry’s leading technical resource book on the subject of structural restorative drying – Leadership in Restorative Drying. He is currently an IICRC Approved instructor of WRT, ASD and CDS certificate courses.

Larsen is also an RIA instructor of the restoration industry’s advanced certification credentials: Water Loss Specialist (WLS), Certified Mold Professional (CMP) and Certified Restorer (CR). He serves as Chairman for RIA approved Instructors, Trainers and Subject Matter Experts, a sub-committee of RIA’s Education Committee. Larsen presently serves as Senior Technical Director for the International Dry Standard Organization (IDSO) and Director of Education for the Restoration Leadership Institute (RLI) and lead consultant for the Restoration Expert Panel (REP) and DryStandard Inspections (DSi). Chuck Lane, CEM, CEDP

DIRECTOR OF TRAINING AND EDUCATION

Chuck is an experienced emergency manager and instructor with over 14 years of experience in the fields of emergency management, healthcare, and adult education. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management from Waldorf University as well as multiple advanced industry certifications, including the prestigious Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) designation from the International Association of Emergency Managers. He currently serves as the Director of Training and Education for BluSky Restoration where he oversees employee development, organizational effectiveness, and client education. In addition to his full-time role Chuck continues to serve as an adjunct instructor and subject matter expert for both the National Disaster Life Support Foundation and FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness, where he instructs the nation’s first responders, military, and healthcare workers on a variety of topics related to managing emergencies and disasters. He attributes his love for training and education to a quote from Benjamin Franklin; “Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.”

Dave Robbins

SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, NATIONAL HEALTHCARE SERVICES

Dave Robbins has a widely known reputation for his knowledge and involvement in the construction industry. He has more than 30 years of industry experience, specializing in the restoration and renovation of commercial properties. He also has extensive healthcare facilities related restoration expertise.

Dave has earned the prestigious designations of Certified Restorer (CR), Water Loss Specialist (WLS), Certified Mold Professional (CMP) from the Restoration Industry Association. He also holds the Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC) designation from the American Hospital Association.

Because he is an expert in his field, Dave regularly speaks on industry-related topics at national conventions. Dave served on the Restoration Industry Association (RIA) Board of Directors. He currently serves on the IICRC S-700 committee, which will create the first industry recognized standards for fire and smoke damage restoration.
